![]() Manhattan Ensemble Theater (MET) was founded in 2000 by Dave Fishelson to be a writers' theater, dedicated to producing new works of theater derived from such diverse narrative sources as fiction, journalism, film, and memoir. In so doing, MET hoped to provide a home for the ongoing development of the dramatization as a literary form in American theater. Across its 7-year existence whether on Broadway, across the U.S., or in its 140-seat space in the heart of NYC's SoHo MET presented world, American or New York-premieres, to over one million American theatergoers.
